Ceramics in SEA
This section contains a country by country breakdown of ceramics produced. Who produced what and where were the production centres located?
Below, we have commenced with Mainland Southeast Asia, as ceramic production there is more profuse and more well documented than anywhere else in the region.
Use the maps in this section together with our Periods of Production Timeline for a fuller overview of Southeast Asian ceramics.
The Southeast Asian Ceramic Society plans, in future additions, to include production centres from Island Southeast Asia, as well as from countries outside the regions, such as our neighbours India and China.
Mainland SEA
Ceramics on the mainland of the region have been around since the prehistoric times, but glazed ceramics were only produced in the last two millennia.
Delve into the subtleties of an art and find out where your piece of ceramic comes from.
